Hidden Character Remover and Unicode Text Cleaner
This browser-based tool helps inspect invisible characters and formatting code points that may appear after copying text from websites, documents, email, or AI tools. Your pasted text is processed locally in the browser.
How to check hidden characters in text
Paste text into the inspection area to review each code point, its Unicode name, position, and context. Preview a clean copy before copying it, and keep any character that is required for emoji, a writing system, or right-to-left text.
Controlled Unicode text-cleaning rules
The tool can handle zero-width spaces, soft hyphens, misplaced byte order marks, Unicode Tags, and selected control characters. You can also convert en dashes and em dashes to an ASCII hyphen when that fits your publishing style.
What this Unicode cleaner does not do
Cleaning invisible characters can improve display, search, and copy-and-paste reliability. It does not identify whether text was written by a person or AI, verify authorship, or remove statistical watermarks.
Frequently asked questions
Does this tool upload my text to a server?
No. Inspection and preview run in the visitor’s browser.
Can it remove all invisible Unicode characters automatically?
No. Some invisible characters are valid for scripts, emoji, and text direction, so the tool shows them for review. All cleanup policies start enabled, and visitors can turn a policy off or keep an individual item.
Can it detect AI-written text?
No. It reports the Unicode code points present in a text string only.
